Hey Boston, How Was Your Monday Funday?

To the victors go the spoils. The TWO-TIME DEFENDING CHAMPION Los Angeles Lakers celebrated their NBA Finals victory with a parade in Downtown LA on Monday with close to one million fans in attendance. Yes, it is bad that LA’s burnt taxicab industry took a hit just to see millionaires on top of a big rig, waving at people they don’t even know. But at the end of the day, it wasn’t Boston celebrating.

NBA – Lakers Win Championship Thanks To Superfan’s Music Video

When your team wins the ultimate prize, everything associated with them is great. Marginally good looking wives of the players are smoking hot all of a sudden. The act of flipping over cars because your team won the NBA championship is socially acceptable (and still illegal). Making a horrible song to rally the fellas to victory deserves Grammy consideration.

This Laker superfan cut this pop/R&B track prior to game six, and had I listened to it before the outcome of game seven, the song would have been one of the funniest things I ever heard dedicated to a sports team. However, having  just heard the song a few minutes ago, it is the best song ever.

NBA – I Have To Hate Paul Pierce For The Next Two Weeks

Paul Pierce

The last time he played for the 'good guys'.

Paul Pierce and I have plenty in common. We’re both Californians. We both are from LA. Both of us grew up Laker fans. There was a mutual hatred towards the Celtics that we shared. We went to school at KU (Rock Chalk!), and lived in the Jayhawker Towers. Unfortunately, fate decided that our similar life paths end in Lawrence. He went to Boston, and I returned to Los Angeles. I remained loyal to the purple and gold, and he didn’t want to be traded after the Celtics lost over 50 games in 2007. (When Kobe Bryant seeks help, you don’t remain on your 50+ loss team. You send him your resumé with references.) But that’s ok. He is happy where he is at, and I am enjoying my team’s third consecutive trip to the NBA Finals. However, when the ball is tipped off tomorrow night, the fact that he wore the Kansas red, white, and blue is thrown out the window. Paul’s a Celtic like the rest of the bums he plays with, including Brian Scalabrine. So I hope he loses. and that the insufferable city of Boston has another 86 year sports curse laid on them. They need one to put them back in their place.

The Celtics Are Taking On Water; Orlando Wins Game Five, Has “The Glow”

All it takes are two wins by Orlando to possibly make me reconsider having a Lakers – Celtics revenge match. The only other outcome to the playoffs that is better than the Lakers beating the Celtics in The Finals, is Boston completing the historical fail by being the first team in NBA history to lose four straight in a playoff series after being up 3-0.

This is insulting to Karl Malone, John Stockton, Reggie Miller, and Patrick Ewing.

Hey Boston, I hope those brooms are properly stowed for landing, because this playoff ride could be coming to an end very soon. Learn from Sho-nuff. When you have your opponent face first in water, drown the bastard!

Reward: Membership Into The Cult Of Kobe For The Video Clip Of Laker Fans Chanting “We Want Boston!”

Last year’s NBA championship had a bittersweet feeling to it. I was elated that the team once known as the Los Angeles Lakers finally filled the championship void from the Shaquille O’Neal era, but it just didn’t have the same shine as winning a championship against Boston. I felt cheated because the Celtics decided to lay a big fat egg against the Orlando Magic in last year’s Eastern Conference Semifinals. Throughout the season, I have been lusting for the opportunity for a Finals rematch between The Defending Champions (Los Angeles Lakers) and the Boston Celtics. Other Laker fans share my same passion for revenge as well. According to Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports, fans at Staples Center were chanting “We want Boston!” towards the end of last night’s game 2 Western Conference Finals contest between The Defending Champions and Los Phoenix Suns.

If any of my original bounty hunters have that video clip, you know the protocol on how I expect things to be delivered to me. For the newbies, look at this past bounty for guidance.

131-92, Never Forget

I want that video clip as bad as Kobe’s quest for vengeance against the Boston Celtics in The Finals.

Quoth ESPN, “Boston Tear Party”

Hey, they said it, not me. I will admit that if I still had a Twitter account, Captain Obnoxious would have come out to celebrate LeBron’s 29-point waxing of the Celtics.

It's not ESPN's wittiest line, but I'll take it.

NBA – Rasheed Wallace Scores In The Wrong Goal, Boston Shifts Its Attention To The Red Sox

Here’s video of Rasheed Wallace capping his nightmarish first season with the Celtics by scoring a goal for the Chicago Bulls following a rebound from Tuesday night.
